Magical and Neutral Halloween Decor
Gather ’round coven, it’s spooky season – but make it chic.
I don’t normally decorate for this time of year, but I felt bewitched (see what I did there?) to create little pockets of chic “Falloween” to celebrate a new season. If you missed it, last week I rounded up my favorite chic and spooky Frame TV Art and put up my bats. This week, I’m bringing a little bit of Hogwarts home. Floating candles and simple neutral Halloween decor felt like the move and dare I say, added a bit of magic.
Neutral Halloween Decor
I’m not *quite* finished with the mantel, but I thought these cute decorative white pumpkins and black twisted taper candles were too good not to put up! Pumpkins feel like something I can have out through Thanksgiving and the ones I bought are part of a set of seven – so I can easily switch them around or put them in other parts of the house. And they come in their own bag, which is great for storage.
My love for vintage brass candlesticks runs deep. The black of the tapered candles feels intense, but I love the way they pair with the patina of the metal. It gives just a slightly eerie feel to the mantel.
And because fall is the season of Harry Potter (and Meg Ryan) I had to include my Hogwarts acceptance letter(s). I used three banners in total here and they too came pre-strung for easy decorating. Would be so cute for birthdays or a Harry Potter themed party hung from the ceiling or draped on a banister!
Floating Taper Candles
These floating taper candles came pre-strung, with a remote control wand and delivered in about two days! They even flicker to resemble a real flame. My living room suddenly feels like the Great Hall at Hogwarts and it is such. a. mood. I could see these looking lovely for the holidays or to elevate dinner parties. Or to just generally have permanently hanging because they’re such a vibe.
How to Hang Floating Taper Candles from the Ceiling
The best way to hang floating taper candles is to hang them from hooks on the ceiling. I used these Command Indoor Mini Light Clips and simply tied the fishing line into a simple loop. No need to be fussy about getting all the lengths of the fishing line the same. It’s way more fun to place the candles randomly and at different heights.
Don’t be afraid to lean into what makes you happy this season, even if it doesn’t look like everyone else’s idea of happy. It’s ok to redefine how holidays look for YOU. It’s your home and you can turn it into Hogwarts if you want to 😉
