What I Want for September
“…there is a clarity about September. On clear days, the sun seems brighter, the sky more blue, the white clouds take on marvelous shapes; the moon is a wonderful apparition, rising gold, cooling to silver; and the stars are so big. The September storms… are exhilarating…”
~ Faith Baldwin
September feels like the sunset of summer. And while I’m going to miss lounging in the sun and the slower pace, I’m ready to leave this season behind. I mentioned this in my August reflection, but I’m currently training for a December marathon – but my thirties are catching up with me and I’ve got a bum hip.
And while this injury feels like my entire personality at times, I’m trying hard to see the silver linings. I’m hoping September is the month I get clarity for my injury, remain consistent in my creative pursuits and allow myself to release the plans I thought I had and allow life to just “be.”
I’m excited to use this space to hold myself accountable, but also to dream up what I want the month ahead to look like. I’ve been feeling a bit unmoored lately, like I’m just floating through my days without purpose. It’s my hope that the act of sitting down and laying out some intentions and goals will help give me some direction and focus.
