7 Minimalist Jewelry Boxes and Organizers Under $80
I’m in my organizing era and absolutely nothing is safe – including my jewelry. All of my pieces need a cozy home that keeps them protected.
What I have right now looks nice, but functions horribly. I need an *actual* jewelry box.
Currently, my rings roll around, my earrings get separated, and my necklaces get caught on the gold foil of both the tray and the box.
Not to mention everything needs dusting so often that I’m afraid I’m ruining quality pieces.
I’ve gotten better about taking off my jewelry at the end of the day, but I find myself leaving treasured pieces all around the house. And then panic sweat when I can’t find something.
Jewelry boxes don’t have to be boring wood boxes or random pieces of furniture. They can be thoughtful, well-appointed, yet minimalist.
They also make great gifts. (wink, wink)
No two jewelry boxes are the same and there’s surprisingly a lot to consider when choosing one.
Tips for Choosing a Jewelry Box
- Materials – Anything is better than just leaving your jewelry lying around. But consider this investment as a way to protect your jewelry collection, even if it is “just” costume jewelry. Look for boxes lined with a soft material like silk, velvet, or, cotton. This way jewelry won’t get scratched or caught.
- Organization – Consider how many pieces you have and what they’re made of. Each piece should have plenty of breathing room to keep them from bumping into each other. Pieces with gemstones should especially be given space because, depending on the stone, they could scratch other items.
- Budget – There are lots of incredibly expensive options out there. I wasn’t looking to spend more than $80, so that’s how I compiled my list! But, pricepoint is absolutely something to consider when looking into the best ways to store jewelry.
Best Jewelry Boxes on Amazon
$24 Acrylic Jewelry Box
The low price of this jewelry box can’t be beat. It has three drawers lined with velvet and the box itself is stackable!
I like that this one is see-through and has various compartments for rings, charms, bracelets, and more.
$56 Huge Jewelry Box
Small space queens, this one’s for you! With five drawers, two side compartments, a travel case, and space up top for smaller items, this is some serious bang for your buck.
I love that one of the drawers can fit multiple pairs of sunglasses and that necklaces have a space to hang.
$26 SONGMICS 2 Layer Jewelry Box
Don’t be fooled by the simple appearance of this gal. She’s like the Swiss Army Knife of jewelry boxes.
Each removable tray allows you to create space depending on the items you’d like to organize.
It’s deep enough to store sunglasses, but also wide enough to store chunky bracelets and the like. I also like the unique shape of the handle.
Best Minimalist Jewelry Boxes
$60 Marie Kondo Linen Jewelry Bento Box
I LOVE the look of the linen on this jewelry box. While this box wouldn’t suit a large collection of jewelry, it certainly fits the essentials.
Inside is a tray to hold smaller items like rings and earrings and the bottom is deeper storage for bracelets and watches.
This one comes in different sizes as well!
$33 Stackers supersize lidded box
This minimalist jewelry box is probably best for someone who has a large collection of jewelry.
What makes this particular box unique is that it can stack with several other trays to create an entirely custom box.
The sleek design feels modern and the overall look is clean and simple. LOVE.
$80 Leather Jewelry box
Coming in at the top of our budget is this beauty from Quince. I’m a sucker for the contrast of black leather and soft beige interior.
This leather jewelry box feels uniquely contemporary yet classic and high quality. It contains three removable trays that house every jewelry essential. The snap closer feels secure, but somehow fun?!
Best Travel Jewelry Case
$78 Mejuri travel case
Of all the travel jewelry cases, this one is my fave. She and I go way back.
No more tangled necklaces upon arrival. Every item has a place and the whole thing is easy to throw in a safe when you leave the hotel room.
My favorite part is that three-letter monogramming is available and would make a great gift.
How to Store Jewelry
- Keep pieces separate – this helps to keep pieces from scratching each other
- Avoid heat and humidity – this feels like a no-brainer unless you have solid gold, but these elements can tarnish pieces, so be mindful of that to keep your items in their original condition
- Gently clean before storing – a simple wipe with a soft cloth to get rid of body oils and dirt will do
Lots of gals have jewelry dishes and I don’t want to minimize them! Those are great for placing next to a sink when you need to take off a ring quickly but consider a box for long-term storage.
If trays are more your vibe, make sure they’re lined with a soft material.
The right jewelry box blends with your aesthetic, fits your needs, and elevates the everyday experience of wearing our most treasured pieces – a perfect match for your everyday life.
There’s something about a jewelry box that creates a ritual out of putting on jewelry.
And the jewelry in that box doesn’t have to be fine jewelry. Your jewels are yours no matter the cost and they deserve love and care.
I love the idea of opening the lid or swinging open a compartment to reveal pretty, sparkly accessories to choose from for the day.
